Flight of the Month: Johnnie Walker at Bootlegger
After more than 200 years of history, Johnny Walker still stands at the top of the pyramid.
This great epic of success began in 1820, when John Walker started his first distillery in Kilmarnock. At that time, the whiskey he produced was sold in his own grocery store. When he died, his son and grandson took over the project and with an ambitious vision increased sales by more than 82% within the family business. Already present in more than 120 countries in 1920, the brand received the title of “Royal Warrant” by King George V as the official Whiskey of the Royal Court of England 14 years later.
Today, Johnny Walker is sold in 180 countries and is the best-selling Scotch whiskey in the world.
