OLD GRAND-DAD IN IMPORT PRIVATE

I am personally a big fan of Bourbon and rye so I was very happy to have the chance to get my hands on this new private import. Old Grand-Dad is a Kentucky bourbon distilled by Beam Suntory, the same ones that produce Jim Beam, Maker’s Mark, Basil Hayden and others.

Since this bottle has been on the shelves of the SAQ only on very few occasions in the past, I have not had the chance to discuss with a friend his personal experience.

I loved the experience, several times I mention the grain touches, which reminded me a lot of my visit to the Hiram Walker distillery.

Nose; You can immediately feel the high rye content with its spicy smell that tends to pepper. There is also a presence of wood (oak). The more the Whiskey goes into the glass, the more the sweet aromas stand out.

Puck; The presence of rye is spicy but at the same time sweet and peppery.

Final; A long dry and spicy finish
